Setting Up Turnback Policies
Set up turnback policies for your organization in DragonFly
A turnback policy can be set up for ineligible officials to be removed from a game within a certain number of days leading up to the contest if they do not become eligible or can be set up to require your officials to accept or reject an assignment within a certain number of days after they have been assigned.
To get started, navigate to the Game Schedule.
Setting Up A Policy for An Individual Contest
You can set a policy to an individual game by selecting the game and going to the Officials and Workers tab. Find the Turnback Settings.
You can enter the number of days into either turnback option and designate if the conflict type is Soft or Hard.
-
Soft Block: The official will still show up in your list of available officials, but you will be notified if they have been turned back from a game for whatever reason.
-
Hard Block: The official will only show up in our list of blocked officials if they have been turned back off of this game.
Setting Up An Organization Policy
Instead of applying policies game-by-game, you can set up an organization-wide turnback policy. To get started, click the Settings gear icon in the game schedule.
Select Turnback Policies.
In the window that pops up, you can see any available turnback policies already set up.
To set up a new one click Add Turnback Policy in the bottom of the window.
Set the organization for the policy, what sports are included, and you can choose to apply it to specific contest types (regular season, playoffs, etc.) or competing levels (JV, varsity, etc.)
Set a name for your policy.
If you want the policy to be a default policy, you can check Is Default.
Choose your turnback type (either published duration or ineligibility).
-
Published Duration is the set amount of time within which an official must accept or reject an assignment before it is automatically turned back.
-
Ineligibility is the number of days leading up to a contest wherein an official will be automatically removed from a game.
Finally, set the number of days for the turnback policy and designate the conflict as a Soft or Hard conflict block (as explained earlier).
When you are satisfied, click Save Policy.
