There are three different kinds of blocks: Availability, Distance, and Conflicts.
We'll go through each one.
Availability Blocks
Availability Blocks are simply blocks you can schedule for whatever reason. They can be defined by your officiating group, sport, and level.
To set it up, click Availability if it isn't already selected, then enter your preferences for the assigning groups you need the block applied to, selected sports and levels, then simply mark the range of date and time for your availability.
Availability Blocks can be one-time, or recurring.
Distance Blocks
Distance Blocks allow you to define a maximum distance from a set address you want to mark as unavailable.
To create a distance block, Distance Block in the 'Create Block' view.
Enter any preferences you have regarding sports and levels, and type in the maximum mile radius from your address you'd like to create the block with.
Next, click Select Address. The block is tied to your address as defined by your profile, but you can add an alternative address (for example a work address) for your block.
Select what days and times you'd like this block to apply and finish by clicking Save Block.
Conflict Block
There are two kinds of conflict blocks: an Official Block and a School Block. We'll go through both below.
To get started, click Add Block on the assignments page and select Conflicts.
You will need to select to either block an individual official or a school. Click Block Official to begin blocking being scheduled with an individual contest official.
To set up an official block, simply define the sport and level and enter the name of the contest official. Click Add to finish.
To set up a school block click Block School after clicking Add Block.
Enter the name of the school and define what sports and levels you'd like to apply this block to.
You'll need to mark the block as a Conflict of Interest or Personal.
-
A conflict of interest block does not have a limit. This would apply if you have an unavoidable conflict of interest, such as if your child plays on the football team for the school.
-
A personal block is for situations where you simply have a personal reason for needing to avoid officiating a school's game (such as a personal issue with the coach of a team). Please note that your state may place a limit on the number of personal blocks allowed.
View & Manage Blocks
As soon as you create a block, it will be available to your assigners.
To view or manage your blocks, navigate back to the Assignments page.
You will see the blocks that you have created, organized by type. Click the trash icon to erase any of your existing blocks.
