Managing Positions Settings in DragonFly

Learn how to work with the positions system in DragonFly MAX

To access the Position Settings, first navigate to the Game Schedule.

On the game schedule, click the settings gear icon.

Select Position Settings

On this window you can find a few different items.

  • Organization - This is which organization you wish to edit position settings for.

  • Sport - Select the specific sport you want to edit positions for

  • Selections - Here you can manage positions you want to have readily available for use, but are not necessarily the default positions you want to have on every game.

  • Game Officials - Here you can manage your default game positions for contest officials.

  • Game Workers - This is where you manage default positions for game workers.

Adding a Position to Selections

To add a new contest official, first make sure that the Officials tab is selected, and click Add Position

Type in an abbreviation and full name for the position. Hit 'enter' to accept.

Setting Up Default Positions

You can set up positions that are the default ones applied to a specific kind of game. This is done under the Game Officials and Game Workers sections for setting up defaults for either contest officials or game workers, respectively.

By default, you have two groups available to work with - Varsity and Non-Varsity, but you can create your own groups.

Click Add Group if you want to create a New Position Group

In the new group, give it a name (in the example here, 'Football Positions'), set the level, contest type, and competitive seasons.

Then click Add Position.

In the window that opens, you'll see the positions set in your Selections window. You can also add positions here - to do so be sure the window is in edit mode (if it's not already) by clicking the pencil edit icon in the corner.

Just like before in Selections, click Add Position and enter a short name and full name for the desired new position. Click Apply to save.

Select the positions you want in the positions group you are editing to be the default positions for that group. When you are satisfied, click Save.

Editing Positions on a Game-By-Game Basis

You can also edit positions directly on a game. To do so, click on a game in the game schedule to open the game details view, and scroll to officials and workers.

Click 'Add Position'.

You can select a position from your selections or click the edit pencil again to add a new position as described before. Click Apply after you've made your selections for this game.

Updating Positions for Multiple Games

You can finally also add or remove positions from multiple games in the games schedule. Click the checkbox next to the games you want to edit, then go to Actions.

In the Assignments section of the dropdown, you'll find bulk options for adding or removing contest officials or game workers.
